Pet Peeves...

Okay, so I spend a lot of time on the road each day. And every day I'm both amazed and irritated at things I see drivers do. For instance...
1. Driving on a busy two-lane road, too much traffic to pass, yet the person in front of me drives at LEAST 15 miles UNDER the speed limit! Why?
2. People driving without their seatbelts on. Now I'm a mom and see things from a slightly different perspective perhaps, but - how hard is it? This past spring my husband lost one of his ball players to a car wreck - now if she'd been wearing her seatbelt, it would have at least kept her inside the car and probably would have saved her life! 3 seconds - saves a lifetime of pain for your family members. If I ever have to attend another funeral like that in my lifetime, it will be too soon!
3. Yesterday I encountered a person hauling a trailer, I planned on passing them when the road briefly widened to a 4 lane, but this kind person was wonderful enough to drive down the MIDDLE of both of our lanes, preventing me from passing him - completely unaware that he was both taking up two lanes of traffic and that anyone was behind him! Very kind.
4. People who stop in the middle of the road/stoplights to 'visit' with someone in another car. I mean if no one was around, okay, probably no harm I suppose, but when you're in the middle of one of the busiest streets in town and want to chit chat at the stoplight - seriously - there are others of us behind you that might actually want to make it through the green light!!
5. Okay, my last rant - people who 'create' their own stop signs. Now I'm sure their intentions are good. But...There are several 2-way stops in town, for instance, the north/southbound traffic each have stop signs, however the east/west bound lanes do not. Yesterday I waited for what seemed like an eternity, waving another car on, because they seemed to think they had a stop sign as well. People like this always make me leery - not sure if they're just faking the stop and will suddenly gun the accelerator once I proceed through the stop sign.
6. Well, one more - and I say this mainly for my husbands sake - honking! I think honking in traffic should be reserved for when you REALLY need it! Not just because you don't particularly care for someone's driving (unless they were about to hit you and you need to get their attention). But just random honking, for fun. My husband will do this and it annoys me to no end, which probably explains why he does it so often...that and sit in the driveway and honk to let me know a) he's home or more often, b) he needs help bringing stuff in from outside. (And often times, he's already called me before he gets home anyway so I know he's coming.) Men...gotta love 'em!

Nicole's Bridals

Yesterday we did a shoot for Nicole, one of our many September brides. She started out the day by telling us she's NOT a diva bride and she was so true. Full of giggles, smiles, jokes and more Nicole had all of us laughing during the day. Here are a couple of our favorites from yesterday's bridal shoot! She was such a trooper and braved some steamy Oklahoma heat both inside AND outside! I think we both lost 5 pounds during the session!! She makes just an incredible bride (of course we are a tad bias because she's our client, but...)

This weekend

Well tomorrow officially kicks off our marathon month of weddings! We will be shooting the wedding ceremony of Suzie and Tommy tomorrow followed by a bridal session with one of our many September brides, Nicole! We're excited for both and look forward to having a great time all weekend. Keep a watch out for a sneak peak for both Saturday's wedding and Sunday's bridal shoot!!!

We shot Nicole's engagements to Justin earlier this year and they are a very cute, romantic couple! We can't wait for their wedding later in September!

Online Client Viewing

While the email issue through our website has now been resolved, we now have a new issue. We found a strange scripting error in the last 48 hours and we're working between our server host and our programmers to get it fixed. For the moment, you can't click on 'clients' in our website and be taken to the proper site. Which means you can't easily see your online proofs, but they are there! In the meantime, please click the following link to view your proofs. From there, you will be taken to the normal viewing site where you'll enter your email address and password. We apologize for the hassle to see your proofs.

Senior Albums

Our newest and quickly growing to be one of our most popular service for our 2008 senior clients is our 'Senior Albums'. These hard-cover, custom designed coffee table albums are a great way to show off all of the proofs from your online gallery AND get some really cool designs - sort of a new spin on buying small 4x6 image of all of your proofs and slipping them into an album where they may or may not fall out.

These 7x7, 20-sided albums include all of the images from your online gallery and can be personalized with your name, favorite quotes, sports records, basically anything you want! The sky is the limit on these albums. They're big enough to show off, yet small enough you can still carry with you - we can even design special places in your albums for friends to sign and write messages, just like in your yearbook! Albums with additional pages are also available. Design time is about a week and since each book is custom produced, you'll have it in about 4-6 weeks!
Be sure to ask us about designing you a senior album during your senior session! We can design an album at any time during your senior year!!

Autumn's Senior Pix

I've known Autumn and her family for years - hard to believe that she's finally a senior!! Wow! I think the idea of her being a senior was finally hitting her as we talked about college, graduation, senior year, etc. Yesterday evening, Autumn braved the over 100 degree heat and we grabbed some great shots from her senior session. These are just a few of our initial favorites! Thanks Autumn! I had lots of fun and good luck with the nursing thing!

(You look so much like your sister in this shot!)

(This is the Autumn I know - always laughing and giggling!)

Graduation Announcements

Your senior year - you've waited a long time for this ONE year...your parents on the other hand, well, they might like to hang on to you for a little while longer. Your senior year can also include several mounting expenses for parents - pictures, announcements, cap and gown, yearbooks, trips, gifts, planning for college, banquets, proms, the list can go on and on.

Just the other day we were having a conversation with a dad planning a session for his daughter when he asked 'exactly how much is all of this going to cost me?'. He went on to explain that he's already been made aware of several purchases during his daughters senior year that amount to over $500 each! We were happy and excited to tell him, we never put a minimum dollar order requirement on anything in our studio - images are left online during the school year so parents can make purchases here and there as they need and want to.

He then turned the conversation to graduation announcements - something we're very proud of at our studio! We create custom, one of a kind, graduation announcements complete with your information and favorite image from your session. We will include several samples in your online gallery, and you may also choose any variation of some of other predesigned samples as well! The deadline for ordering your graduation annoucements for 2008 is March 31. This allows you enough time to address envelopes and get them mailed in time for graduation!

Brandi's Senior Pictures

We shot Brandi's senior pictures earlier this summer. She yet another young woman we've had the priviledge to watch grow up over the last few years. She was a great sport this day and willing to try some unexpected things! Certainly made for some great laughs!

I never realized how much she looked like her dad until we watched her laugh! She certainly has Joe's eyes!!! We were honored to have known him!

Donovan's Senior Pictures

Eariler this summer, we shot Donovan's senior pictures. Donvan's quite the fashion guru and that made for some very handsome pictures! I've gotten to know Donovan over the past few years - he's all over the place with his own camera during the school year shooting pictures for the yearbook!

Cassie's Senior Pictures

We shot Cassie's senior pictures back in June - we're playing catch up this evening while we're working out the bugs on our website! We had so much fun photographing Cassie - my daughter Kallie tagged along to help out because Cassie helps out at her pre-school. Cassie has big plans after graduation and we wish her the best!

This is one of my favorites because my daughter couldn't resist putting a flower in Miss Cassie's hair - she's quite the photographer in training!

Sarah's Senior Sessions

Here are a few of our favorites from Sarah's session. We've know her too since she was in 7th grade. In fact, when we had our daughter, she was one of the first ones to visit in the hospital and we have pictures of her and our newborn! Again, her starting her senior year really makes us feel old! Sarah's a terrific young woman with a bright future ahead!

Kalla's Senior Session

This summer we've been busy with senior sessions. These are some of our favorite shots from Kalla's session. We've known her since she was in 7th grade! Hard to believe she'll graduate this year! Makes me feel so old!! We wish her all the luck in the world!

JB & Ashley

We had the opportunity this summer to photograph JB & Ashley's wedding reception. They decided to run off to Jamaica to get married, but had a big party when they got home. They had a wonderful reception with lots of fun, laughter, friends and family. Their reception was held at the Birdsong Wedding Chapel in Ardmore - a terrific place to have a reception or to even get married. The staff there is absolutely top notch and a pleasure to work with! These are just a few of our favorite images from their day.

Well, we thought the other night our site was going to launch, but over the past 48 hours, we've had one heck of a time getting three massive scripting errors worked out. (Basically what really makes the site actually work the way it should). We've asked our designer to take a look again and they're trying to pinpoint the issue at this very moment. We do ask for your continued patience - trust us, no one is as anxious as we are to get this site up and running like it should!

We have several client galleries ready to be viewed online, but until we can resolve the scripting errors, we can't provide you with a working link so that you can see them. We're working frantically to at least get our online proofing gallery online if nothing else at this point, but even that is giving us some difficulties. That at this point is our top priority.

You may still email us at info@bwdphotography.com and we can try to answer any questions you may have.

Please bear with us as we make this transition.

Senior Session

I had the opportunity to meet a beautiful young lady this weekend and shoot her senior pictures. She was great and braved the near 100 degree weather and this is just a sample of her session! It was a pleasure to meet you and your family and we wish you the best of luck during your senior year! Enjoy it!

New Website

Whoo Hoo!! Our new website finally launched over the weekend. Right now we are still working out a few of the last kinks, but everything is there! We're in the process today to get the last few links up and working properly so that our clients can view their proofs.

The new site offers a lot more information, more galleries for future clients to look at and get a good feel of who we are, what sort of work that we do. The site should be much more user friendly and highlight both aspects of photography work that we specialize in - weddings and seniors.

Be sure and send us an email and let us know what your thoughts of the new site!
