2008 weddings...

Since the bridal show this past Sunday, our phone has been ringing nearly non-stop! If you've tried to call this week, we apologize if you've had to leave a message. We're trying to return phone calls as we can - in between more calls coming in!

We want to congratulate Ashley and Cacy as they are our newest signed couple today! They are planning a September wedding and were actually one of several couples to call us for the same wedding date. We're excited to share this day with them. We'll be shooting their engagements in early spring.

Remember, that dates are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis and cannot be held without the $250 retainer fee. While we encourage brides to shop around and find the best photographer for their own specific situation, our available dates are going quickly and we are awaiting final word from couples on several different dates this summer! We are happy to put a 'sticky' on a particular date for you, but will not guarantee that date for you without paying the 'save the date' retainer fee.

If you're still considering our studio for your 2008 wedding, please give us a call to see if your date is still available! We are trying to keep the calendar on our website updated as we get the chance.

Congratulations....two new BWD couples....

JoAnna and Brandon are our newest couple to book a wedding with us for 2008. So, officially now, our popular June 7, 2008 date has been taken off of our calendar.

We also booked a wedding yesterday for Ashley & Steven - they will be getting married in August 2 this year!!

We look forward to celebrating these two new lives this year!

Great Turnout

Yesterday had a great turnout of Southwest Oklahoma brides-to-be (and grooms-to-be) at the bridal fair held at the Great Plains Coliseum in Lawton. We have figured out that May is going to be a HUGE month to be getting married this year. Two other obviously popular dates - June 6 and August 8 (6-7-8 and 8-8-8) . I lost count of how many brides we spoke to yesterday that had those two dates.

We did book a couple of weddings yesterday so be sure to check our website to get an updated list of available dates in 2008. Brides, remember that if you book your wedding with our studio before February 14, you get an automatic $100 off any wedding package of your choice! Dates are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. We require a $250 retainer to hold your date.

We also had some terrific news shared with us yesterday by one of our former brides - Ashely & Chris Gordon - they're expecting a new little one!!! It is so exciting to have known them now before their wedding and now as they get ready to start their own family!!! We're so excited for them to take on this next step in their lives. Grandma-to-be and incredible wedding videographer, Gay Gordon - is getting a double whammy this year, her daughter Melissa is having a baby in May, and Ashley and Chris are expecting in August!!!

As always, if you have any questions regarding our studio, wedding packages or if you'd like to schedule an appoiontment to visit further - please do not hesitate to call or email!

A Christmas Wedding

Just three days before Christmas, I had the honor to photograph Arlyn & Sarah's new life together. I've known Arlyn since he was in elementary school - he's my younger brother's age - and I was so excited when he called me this fall to tell me he'd found 'the one'. Sarah is a beautiful young woman and I'm so excited for Arlyn to have found such a wonderful girl. These are just a few shots from their day. Congratulations to both of you and I hope Hawaii was wonderful!!

Beautiful Sunrise

This morning as I dropped my daughter off at school, there was the most beautiful sunrise. The two of us looked up and it was just such a celetial image with the church steeple in the silhouette of the sunrise that only the good Lord could paint. I was so thankful I had my camera with me this morning and just HAD to take this picture and share it with you.

A Night with Frank Lloyd Wright

Frank Lloyd Wright (in case you didn't know) was a great designer of architechture. This week I'm at a workshop and staying at the only hotel he ever designed. I was really excited about the experience - until I had to stay here. First off, while the hotel is VERY old...it is quite nice and very classy. However, the design style of the room is well - interesting. Let me explain...

For instance...my room - NOT a typical hotel room. You might think a 'room' should be square or even perhaps a rectangle...NOT so here....

My room - is loosely based on a triangle....having well, let me count....9 - that's right NINE - different walls - just in the MAIN room!!!

My room is so narrow at the doorway - that I could NOT open the door, walk in and have my bag held at my side. I had to sort of configure my way in the room in a single file line, opening the door and dragging my shoulder bag behind me....NOT necessarily fun, but certainly a great talking point.

Now I love Wright's design style from a designers standpoint....great angles, great lines, great texture (oh, and by the way, this hotel is supposed to make you feel like you're inside a tree and completely included in nature). There are only 4 - yes - FOUR - hotel rooms on each floor. Each floor has 3 - yes THREE - small (one person, MAYBE two pepole elevators) on it - however as you'll quickly find out not each elevator goes to all of the same floors. Usually don't realize that until you're on one of the elevators that literally doesn't go all the way to the top floor.

This image - taken as I stand directly outside of my room - you can see two of the other hotel rooms across the way - where you see the lightswitch on the left, on the other side of that wall is one of the elevators - another is directly on my right imediately next to my door.

Ah, but wait...the bathrooms.....Again, based on a triangle - my bathroom has six separate walls.

(Here you can see three of the walls)... oh, and the towel racks - all copper tubing. One bonus - we have heated floors in the bathrooms! Very nice bonus - 90 degree heated floors when you step out onto a concrete floor out of the shower - VERY nice....

So...if you ever find yourself in Bartlesville, OK...be sure and take a spin at Price Towers - there is a museum with a tour available...even if you don't stay here - certainly worth a looksey!!
